Hi there!

I'm Diana.

I partner with companies to design and develop dynamic, data-driven learning solutions.

I'm an instructional designer and
e-learning developer.

I'm eager to help make your life easier and your business successful by helping you solve those nagging performance problems. I'm curious by nature and a growth-minded lifelong learner. Let me help lighten your load. It'll be fun!

Take a moment to browse my portfolio and see the high-caliber work I produce. You'll find a detailed write-up of my needs analysis process with an actual client, design documents, storyboards, e-learning courses built in Articulate Rise and Storyline, as well as job aids.

My Design Process

I follow the ADDIE and SAM models to create learning solutions from start to finish.

Needs Analysis

A thorough needs analysis is always my first step. I will work with you to define a SMART business goal that also aligns with the problems you're observing.

I employ the following techniques in this stage of the process:

  • Action mapping and design thinking

  • Data analysis

  • Learner analysis and learner personas

  • Task analysis

  • Surveys

  • Interviews

  • Focus groups

  • Observations

Design

At the intersection of a needs analysis and designing the learning solution is creating a design document. If training is a solution to the business problem, we determine what type(s) and the content outline.

The following are essential to this stage of the process:

  • Kirkpatrick's levels of evaluation

  • SMART learning objectives

  • Scenario-based questions aligned to learning objectives

  • Backwards design

  • Adult Learning Theory

  • Gagne's nine events

  • Storyboarding for e-learning

  • Iterative design using SAM

Develop

SAM is also important in the development stage. I develop the learning solution and ask for feedback, working through alpha, beta, and gold versions, until we have a solid learning deliverable. The following are tools I utilize in this stage:

  • Articulate Rise 360

  • Articulate Storyline 360

  • Camtasia

  • Vyond

  • PowerPoint

  • Canva

In Storyline I create engagement through continuous, mini, and branching scenarios,  accordions, zoom regions, motion paths, lightboxes, freeform drag and drops, freeform knowledge checks, and more.

Implement and Evaluate

To begin implementation, I publish the developed deliverables. If it is an e-learning course, I publish the SCORM files and pass them along to be uploaded to the LMS.

After the allotted implementation time has occurred to meet our business goal, I collaborate with you to determine the learning solution's effectiveness. The following are essential to evaluating the learning solution:

  • Data analysis

  • Kirkpatrick's levels of evaluation

  • Determine strengths of the solution

  • Determine areas of growth and/or needed changes

  • Make plans to implement changes

Lastly we celebrate our success and turn our focus to the next problem to be solved!
